I am so glad that despite being a polio victim, Jenny found love. She found men who looked past that and gave her the time of day. When I think about that, my whole heart wells up with Joy. It isn't easy on a disabled victims emotions if someone disregards them. I'm not disabled, but I have sensitive feelings. Naturally, a person with sensitive feelings is also sensitive to the feelings of others. I think that a lot of people do care about disabled victims, but they're worried about whether or not the disabled person can work and make money for themselves. Or they're worried about what kind of toll it will take on them if they have to take care of someone with a disability. While those are important things to think about, don't let that stop you from cultivating loving friendships with disabled victims. It will totally benefit you and it will make you happy. If you have all the time in the world, you can volunteer your time to help others. You can look online and see if you can find agencies close to where you live that help people who have disabilities. It's just a thought. Even if you can't volunteer, you can teach your children about how volunteering is a wonderful thing and it builds you up and makes you happy. Volunteering as a family also draws the family closer together.
